Logging, Tug of War and Ultimate Frisbee

Logging Competition

Picture
Come see the saw dust fly on Johnston Green as teams compete for the unofficial title of the Royal City’s Lumberjack Champions. Support and cheer on your favourite team as they compete in numerous logging events. These teams will need brawn and a bit of luck as they swing razor-sharp axes and pull mega-toothed saw. This event is always a crowd pleaser as there is never a dull moment, so see you bright and early on Sunday morning (March 17, 2013)!
Want to put a team together?

All student teams are welcome. A logging team consists of 6 people coed team who dress up in protective gear and compete on several logging events. Logging sign-ups are Jan. 22 & 23 in the UC Courtyard from 9:30am-4:30pm or email colroyal@uoguelph.ca to take part. Logging fees are $18 per team of 6.

Tug of War

The tug of war is a competition of great strength and endurance. Only one team can pull their way to the top. A coed team of 8 will compete in a round robin style competition, trying to pull the opposing team across the centre line. In the fight to pull and tug to the top of the charts, only one team will have the ability and the skill to become tug of war champions. The war takes place on Sunday, March 17, 2013 on Johnston Green.

Want to Become the Tug of War Champions?

Teams of eight, four girls and four boys will compete in winning the title.  Tug of War sign-up days are  Jan. 22 &  23 in the UC Courtyard from 9:30am-4:30pm or email colroyal@uoguelph.ca to enter your team.

Ultimate Frisbee

Picture
Combining the arguably the best aspects of football and Frisbee! Ultimate Frisbee is a fast-paced, tactical game making it widely popular amongst many of the University of Guelph students. The game involves throwing a Frisbee to teammates and taking it up the field to the other team’s end zone without running with it. Ultimate is a non-contact sport that is fun and very competitive at U of G. Come out and watch teams play at the College Royal Ultimate Frisbee mini tournament (Sunday, March 17th, 2013 at 12pm).
Want to play?

All U of G students welcome to participant . Put a team together and sign them up at the Winter Signup Days in the UC Courtyard on Jan. 22 and Jan. 23 from 9:30am - 4:30pm or email the College Royal account at colroyal@uoguelph.ca to sign-up your team.
