Club Events 2022

OVC Class of 2025

Join the OVC Class of 2025 in the animal anatomy lab! This interactive exhibit allows kids and adults to explore the body systems
of different species. We will introduce you to many interesting specimens, and give you a glimpse into life as a first year student at OVC!

UofG Poultry Club

The poultry club is a student organization with members from all backgrounds ranging from no experience with poultry before joining the club to members who come from industrial scale poultry operations. Our members can answer anything from questions about the eggs
you buy at the store to questions about our free artificial insemination program.

The sheep and Goat club is a small club but like the industry it is growing. Our goal with this club is to learn from industry professionals and educate the public about the all the wonderful products that can come from sheep and goats.

Child, Youth, & Family/Child Studies Student Association

Come play in the Royal Forest with the Child, Youth & Family/Child Studies Student Association! Our annual exhibit is an inclusive, educational, and engaging sanctuary for children and families.

Nanoscience Club

Come and explore the wild world of Nanoscience! We will be showing off some of our favourite demonstrations such as Quantum Levitation, Acoustic Levitation, and Schlieren Optics. See with your own eyes as we levitate a superconductor on a magnetic track and visualize the flow of transparent fluids!

Future Vets Club

The Future Vets Club is a event-based organization with the goal of offering support and resources to undergraduate students intending to apply to veterinary colleges, both within Ontario and internationally. This year at College Royal we will be providing a multi-station interactive display that involves balloon animals, a woodland photo booth , and more! Please join us for a ton of animal related fun!

Soil and Crop Club

OAC Soil and Crop Club exists to provide students with the opportunity of experiential education in the fields pertaining to the growth and production of crops. Anything pertaining to these areas will be brought into focus either by presentations by businesses on bus tours
or guest speakers. Club members will be present to answer any questions the public may have!

OAC Class of 2024 Boars

As the 150th incoming class of the OAC, we have been working to proudly uphold Aggie traditions on and off campus. We work closely with upper-year Aggies so we can carry on Aggie traditions in the coming years. Come check us out and see what we’ve been up to this past year!

4-H On-Campus

4-H is a grassroots organization that is recognized worldwide based on a “Learn To Do By Doing” philosophy of leaders building leaders. At UofG, current and new 4-H members are welcome to participate in meetings and on-campus events. We cover a wide variety of topics including agriculture, life skills, communication and more. Come visit us to learn more about 4H On-Campus!

OVC Pathology Club

Have you ever wondered why or how our furry (or scaly) friends get sick? Come discover the fascinating world of veterinary pathology through our interactive display, where you can get a glimpse of a day-in-the life of a veterinary pathologist! If you like to learn about diseases and solving cases, we’re the event for you!

OVC Equine Club

OVC Equine Club is for students interested in expanding their equine knowledge through opportunities beyond the OVC curriculum. Various aspects of equine medicine are covered in club events ranging from talks with industry professionals, interactive clinics, and field trips. Ultimately, these events enhance the quality and experience of future equine practitioners.

Creative Encounters with Science

Creative Encounters with Science is a non-profit that offers year-round STEM programming for youth (taught by
undergraduate STEM Instructors), including our STEM summer day camps on the U of G campus!
CALLING ALL KIDS AGED 6 - 13!
Come visit our interactive booth to play with some of the super cool tech featured at our camps like colour-coding ROBOTS, LEGO
build bots, plus more hands-on STEM games & activities! Learn more about our highly praised summer camps featuring topics focused on themes like Outer Space, Magic Potions (Chemistry), Biology/Animals, Video Game Design, Robotics/Tech, All-Girls camps (gr. 7-9), and MORE!

Royal City Artistic Swimming

Royal City Artistic Swimming Club (RCASC) is an amateur sports club that trains athletes in the sport of artistic swimming. The Royal City Artistic Swimming Club is a not-for-profit, member-supported club. Our main objective is to engage young women and men in sport and to promote a healthy, active lifestyle.

RSCASC continues to grow its membership offering a variety of programs for swimmers of all levels of artistic swimming – from introductory to advanced novice classes, pre-competitive novice programs for ages 10 & under, to an age-based provincial competitive program.

OAC Class of 2025 Bucks

We are the Class of 2025 and we love to show our aggie spirit! We love to get involved in the classroom and in the community. We look forward to being a part of the OAC for the coming years and we look up to what others have done. Go bucks go!

OVC DIVERSE

OVC DIVERSE aims to celebrate all that make us unique, our focus is on promoting learning and networking within the veterinary profession in regards to diversity and inclusivity and with those that identify as BIPOC and our allies. We strive to create safe-spaces for discussion on these topics and raise awareness of under representation within the profession.

Frontier College-Guelph Students for Literacy

Children in grades 1-6 are invited to participate in our non-competitive spelling bee(s) to put their spelling skills to the test! All participants will be awarded with a free book courtesy of Frontier College. We hope to see you there!

It’s our final year, a trip down memory lane, and we’d love to teach you all about the things we love about the OAC, and UofG. Come meet some Longhorns and learn how we contribute to campus life!

Gryphon Racing

Gryphon Racing is a team of students at the University of Guelph. Together, these students run an applied engineering and design club at that, each year, designs, builds and races an open-wheeled, high performance race car. Each year, the team travels to international competitions overseen by the Society of Automotive Engineering where hundreds of teams from around the world gather to partake in a
series of events to prove their designs to industry leading engineering judges. The largest event of the season, FSAE Michigan, hosts 120 teams with over 2000 students, hundreds of volunteers and many major corporate sponsors. This year will be our first season competing in the Electric Vehicle Class!

OVC Class of 2023

The OVC Class of 2023 & 2024 present: Teddy Bear Surgery!! Children are welcome to ‘scrub-in’ to surgery on their beloved stuffed animal! Get dressed up like a real surgeon and our student veterinarians will make sure teddy leaves all fixed-up after physical exams, x-rays, bandages, and more!

Morwick G360 Groundwater Research Institute

The Morwick G360 Groundwater Research Institute at the University of Guelph aims to generate Global Respect for Groundwater. It acts as a focal point for groundwater research collaborations between Academics, Governments, and Industries around the world.

Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE)

Our goal at WiSE is to encourage and empower women entering the STEM fields though community outreach, professional development, and hands-on skills workshops. Our events aim to deliver useful information and skills that benefit the students at UoG, as well as exposing the community to the fields of STEM. We welcome individuals from all genders to volunteer or participate in our events.

Environmental Sciences Student Executive

Come learn about rocks, soil, water and all things about the environment with Environmental Sciences students and plant your own herb or vegetable plant to take home!

Horticulture Club

Horticulture Club uses its access to the Bovey Greenhouse to educate students about ornamental plants and further their experience in horticulture. A special display is created for College Royal to promote our love of plants to the general public!

UofG Fook Talk

UoG Food Talk is a student run initiative with the purpose of sparking positive conversation about food and food production with the University of Guelph community!

Animal Biology Students' Association

The Animal Biology Student Association (ABSA) was formed to represent the interests of the largest degree program under the OAC; Animal Biology! It is our responsibility to plan extracurricular activities for Animal Biology students to enhance their experience during the academic year. These activities include Orientation Week events, career nights where students can connect and network with professionals in animal-related fields, merchandise sales, Aggie Pub nights and many more fun events and trips throughout the year that allow students to meet and socialize with others in the Animal Biology major. Visit our booth to experience our interactive scavenger hunt and learn some cool facts about some animals!

The Women in Agriculture club strives to educate and bring awareness to the topic of Women in Agriculture. This club serves to empower members of the University of Guelph community by bringing in prominent female speakers from the Agri-food industry to speak about their experiences. Members of the club are encouraged to share ideas as we strive for more awareness for women in agriculture.

Figure Skating Club

The UofG Figure Skating Club is a place where athletes who wish to continue skating in university, but who are not a part of the Varsity Skating Team, can come practice in a low stress, unstructured, social atmosphere.

The Applied Human Nutrition Student Association (AHNSA) is a group of Applied Human Nutrition students dedicated to improving student life here on campus! The OAC Beef Science Club is a club through the Ontario Agricultural College. We promote the beef industry of Ontario and Canada. Through trips and meeting we educate members of new technologies, industry trends, general practices, and upcoming events. Stop by for a visit to chat!

UofG Animal Interest Network

The goal of our club is to bring together students with an interest in animal science who come from a wide variety of different backgrounds. Through member-organized events and weekly discussions, we hope to share our mutual experiences and educate ourselves about different viewpoints on current issues in animal science industries

Physics and Astronomy Club

Mathematics and Statistics Club

The Mathematics and Statistics Club aims to unite those that are fond of Math & Stats concepts at the University of Guelph and Wellington Region. We offer events, opportunities and peer help to those who wish to improve, discuss or elaborate on their Physical Science foundations. Come by our booth to chat with some of the clubs execs about future Math & Stat opportunities and compete for a chance to win a prize by spinning our Trivia Unit Circle!

Marketing Management Students' Association

The Marketing Management Students’ Association will be using their display to share more information about the initiatives, events, workshops and conferences that they
organize to help the student body to connect, create and
inspire.

Animal Science Society

The Animal Science Society will be hosting an arts and crafts station in the ANNU for anyone who wants to participate. Animal presentations will be occurring throughout the day to provide an educational experience for those who want to learn about the wonderful creatures we share our planet with.

Food Science Club

Hope you’re hungry Gryphons! Come join Food Science Club to try your luck by guessing our mystery milkshake favour! Test your knowledge about different food products, take part in our colouring contest and add your name to our doughnut wall contest! Come on over to the Food Science Building royally good time!

Lang Students' Association

A display that gives more about the LSA and the Lang Sustainability Conference (one of our main events), while also having an interactive activity about sustainability for people to do.

GEMA

GEMA is a student association representing Public Management and Government Economics and Management students at the Lang School of Business and Economics!

Fastpitch Team

We are a competitive club sport that has just undergone a massive coaching change and are looking for dedicated girls to join our team for the 2022/23 school year. Tryouts will be labour day weekend 2022 and the season begins shortly after!

UofG Engineering Society

The Guelph Engineering Society (EngSoc for short) is a group of elected and appointed engineering students from various years and majors who collaborate to create activities, services, and representation for the engineering student body. Numerous professional groups are represented, including the Professional Engineers of Ontario, the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers, and Engineers Canada. Some of the services provided are printing, binding, clothing sales and affordable food sales. Throughout the years’ EngSoc has run social and charitable events such as Corn Roast, the Teeter-Totter-A-Thon/Marianne’s Place Fundraiser, a curling tournament, National Engineering Week events, the annual Banquet and will be a part of College Royal this year. Come visit our College Royal display to meet the team and a chance to win free merch! We hope to see you there!
