Our 2019 presenters include:
Dr. Christine Baes from the Animal Biosciences Department will be presenting her team's research on cows, their gases and climate change. She will also talk about the genetic mechanisms related to methane emission in dairy cattle. PhD candidate Claudia Smith from the School of Engineering will be presenting about biomedical engineering. She will talk about her research using 3D printing to develop models for veterinary teaching purposes and how this work has enhanced the student experience when learning about psychomotor skills. Dr. Stephen Brown from the Human Health and Nutritional Sciences Department will present his research on lower back pain. He will talk about the science of back pain and will discuss the causes of back pain and how it can be prevented. Masters candidate Nick Werry will present information on bovine fertility and the genetic factors related to it. He will discuss the research that the LaMarre lab and the artificial insemination company Semex have investigated in an attempt to improve bull conception rate. |
