Lecture Series

Lecture Series

Back for its 3rd year, the lecture series takes place on the Saturday and Sunday of open house weekend. Each year 4 lecturers from the University of Guelph present their research and findings to the College Royal community. Our lectures are fun for the whole family, and our Professors present their research from different departments around the University. Come join our Professors and immerse yourself in this year’s topics!

When

Saturday March 21st, 2020 from 2:30pm to 3:30pm
Sunday March 22nd, 2020 from 2:30pm to 3:30pm

Where

Rozanski Hall, Room 101

Our 2019 presenters include:

Dr. Christine Baes from the Animal Biosciences Department will be presenting her team's research on cows, their gases and climate change. She will also talk about the genetic mechanisms related to methane emission in dairy cattle.

PhD candidate Claudia Smith from the School of Engineering will be presenting about biomedical engineering. She will talk about her research using 3D printing to develop models for veterinary teaching purposes and how this work has enhanced the student experience when learning about psychomotor skills.

Dr. Stephen Brown from the Human Health and Nutritional Sciences Department will present his research on lower back pain. He will talk about the science of back pain and will discuss the causes of back pain and how it can be prevented.
